Residential Pilot 2005/2006 - Level 3 Requirement

The Residential Pilot Scheme is for students aged 16 and over on a full-time Level 3 course or above of at least 10 weeks duration or, exceptionally, a course with Level 2 content which leads to a further education qualification that meets a specific job requirement and there is a known skills shortage in this area ie. tree surgeon which is a Level 2 content.

Specialist Residential Colleges who are taking part in the pilot for 2005 - 2006 should note that this refers to courses where there is a skills shortage and employers are looking for Level 2 qualified persons. It cannot be used as a blanket cover for any students studying at Level 2. Continuing students who undertaking a Level 2 course are not affected ie. any student who started their course before September 2005.

If Colleges involved within the pilot scheme need further guidance on this matter they should contact
